“Helping Seniors of Brevard County,” (HSOBC)

is a non-profit advocacy group for senior matters in Brevard County that will be here at TIOB on Tuesday, 22 July @ 3-4pm in the Library for a FREE resource seminar and follow-up Q&A.

HSOBC will be providing an overview of their organization and the basic tenants that they follow to help seniors develop their aging plan, called “Getting Your Ducks in a Row.” This entails an overview of areas important to seniors when developing a personal aging plan, such as legal, financial, household, senior living, home safety and general safety including safety from scams, Medicare, transportation, and health and wellness.

The mission of Helping Seniors of Brevard is to improve the quality of life for Brevard’s senior population through the provision of information, education and resources.

Our vision is to create an information network to help seniors access a full range of services to assist in meeting their health, household, financial, legal and other needs.

SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE COLLECTION BEGINS AGAIN

(SEE BINS IN FRONT WINDOW OF LOBBY)

 The Women’s Center of Brevard recently experienced theft and vandalism.  To help them get back on their feet, the Social Action Committee is collecting the items they requested as most needed on the attached flyer through the month of August.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

For the months of July and August, Temple Israel will be collecting the following items to donate:

• Paper Towels
• Canned food like chicken and fish in 5oz cans/bags
• Canned fruit
• Children’s snacks
• Fruit for Babies (canned)
• Juice boxes
• Small boxes/bags of crackers (like peanut butter or cheez-its)

Collection bins can be found in the Temple lobby. Our initial goal is to collect 20 items in each category.
